AKU Aurai DFS GTX – Technical High-Altitude Mountaineering Boot

AKU Aurai DFS GTX represents the highest level of AKU's mountaineering footwear collection. Designed for professional mountaineers, alpine guides and demanding climbers, it combines lightweight construction, exceptional thermal insulation and technical precision for the most challenging mountain environments.

The integrated elastic gaiter completely covers the boot, preventing snow, ice and debris from entering while providing additional protection against moisture and abrasion. Combined with premium insulation, it allows comfortable use during prolonged exposure to cold alpine conditions.

The exclusive AKU Dual Fit System (DFS) allows users to switch between two different lacing configurations. One provides greater comfort during long approaches, while the second delivers maximum precision and foot hold for technical climbing and mixed terrain.

Thermal protection is provided by the GORE-TEX® Insulated Comfort membrane featuring 350 g insulation, complemented by PrimaLoft® inserts in the tongue and toe area together with an anatomical aluminium-insulated footbed. This combination offers outstanding warmth while maintaining waterproof protection and breathability.

The upper combines durable Kevlar® fabric with AKU's Spider Frame construction, providing excellent abrasion resistance, impact protection and freedom of movement. The rigid platform together with the Vibram® Croda Litebase outsole delivers outstanding grip, stability and precision on rock, ice and mixed terrain while significantly reducing outsole weight.

The boot is fully compatible with automatic (step-in) crampons, making it ideal for technical mountaineering and ice climbing.

AKU's exclusive Elica Natural Stride System improves walking efficiency, enhances stability and reduces fatigue during long alpine approaches.
