Opinel Trekking N°08 Inox Burgundy is a colourful outdoor version of the iconic Opinel N°08 folding knife. Designed for hiking, camping, picnics, travelling and everyday outdoor use, it combines the traditional Opinel construction with a distinctive burgundy beechwood handle and practical leather lanyard.
Its compact dimensions, low weight, stainless steel blade and proven Virobloc® locking system make the N°08 a highly versatile companion for outdoor adventures and everyday tasks.
The knife features an 8.5 cm martensitic stainless steel blade. The European-origin stainless steel used by Opinel is optimised to provide high corrosion resistance combined with excellent mechanical performance.
The steel has a hardness of 55–57 HRC. It provides excellent sharpness and high abrasion resistance while requiring no special maintenance under ordinary conditions of use.
The traditional Opinel blade uses the distinctive Yatagan shape, inspired by the traditional Turkish sabre. Its exclusive convex profile provides blade strength while allowing efficient resharpening.
The handle is made from beechwood, a hard, resistant wood traditionally used by Opinel. Its comfortable shape provides the characteristic feel that has made the N°08 one of the best-known Opinel pocket knives.
On this Trekking edition, the handle features a distinctive Burgundy finish. The varnished surface helps protect the wood against moisture and dirt.
A leather lanyard at the end of the handle makes the knife easier to carry, retrieve from a backpack or equipment pocket and gives the Trekking edition its distinctive outdoor appearance.
The famous Virobloc® safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. Made from stainless steel, it consists of a fixed section and a sliding section.
The Virobloc® system allows the blade to be locked open for safer use and locked closed for safer transport.
Choose the Opinel Trekking N°08 Inox when you want a lightweight, simple and versatile folding knife for outdoor activities. The stainless steel blade is easy to maintain, the Virobloc® system provides reliable blade locking and the wooden handle delivers the classic Opinel feel. The Burgundy finish and leather lanyard distinguish the Trekking version from the standard N°08.
This knife is particularly well suited to hiking, trekking, camping, picnics, travelling and everyday outdoor use. The versatile N°08 size makes it a practical choice for food preparation, small campsite tasks and general everyday cutting needs.
