CLEW Independence Sage Green snowboard bindings combine a patented hybrid step-in/out system with traditional two-strap retention. Compatible with soft snowboard boots, with no special footwear required. Medium-stiff response for riding pistes, powder and park. Made in Germany.
CLEW Independence snowboard bindings combine familiar two-strap retention with a patented hybrid step-in/out system. Designed for All-Mountain riding across pistes, powder and park.
Works with all soft snowboard boots, with no special footwear required. Compatible with 4 × 4, 4 × 2, Channel and 3D mounting systems. A separately sold 3D disc set is required for 3D boards.
No need to re-ratchet your straps after every lift, sit down or fold up the highback before stepping in. The toe cap retains its position while three sintered locking teeth automatically secure the highback. According to CLEW, entry takes just 1.9 seconds.
Each size M binding weighs 989 g. According to the manufacturer, revised geometry and new materials reduce weight by 20% compared with its first model. CLEW describes the Independence as the world's lightest hybrid step-in binding.
The patented system retains the familiar feel of a two-strap binding. Integrated 2.5° base canting supports a natural stance, while redesigned straps transfer rider input directly to the board's edge.
CLEW reports nine years of development, more than 40 prototypes and over 100,000 riders using its bindings. Users range from weekend snowboarders and ski patrols to coaches and FIS-level athletes.
3D mounting discs are sold separately.
