The asymmetrical D shape provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and efficient loading along the major axis. This design is particularly suitable for attaching descenders, safety systems, harness equipment and positioning systems.
TWIST-LOCK automatic locking system
The TWIST-LOCK system is a two-action automatic locking mechanism. To open the carabiner, the locking sleeve must be rotated and the gate pressed.
This allows quick connection and disconnection while maintaining automatic locking functionality.
Ergonomic design
The Petzl Am’D is designed for easy handling, including when wearing gloves:
- Keylock system prevents snagging on ropes and equipment;
