Katadyn BeFree Filter AC 1.0L Black is a compact two-stage personal water filtration system designed for hiking, trekking, travelling, camping, trail running and other outdoor adventures.

It combines Katadyn's fast 0.1 micron EZ-Clean Membrane™ hollow-fibre filter with replaceable activated carbon, helping provide both filtered and better-tasting water.

Stage 1 – 0.1 micron EZ-Clean Membrane™

The first filtration stage uses a 0.1 micron (0.0001 mm) hollow-fibre filter with Katadyn EZ-Clean Membrane™ technology. It is effective against protozoa, bacteria and microplastics.

The hollow-fibre filter has a capacity of up to 1,000 litres, depending on water quality.

Stage 2 – replaceable activated carbon

The second filtration stage uses replaceable activated carbon. It improves the taste of filtered water while reducing odour, turbidity and chlorine.

The activated carbon has a capacity of up to 200 litres, depending on water quality, and can be easily replaced when required.

Fast flow – up to 2 litres per minute

The BeFree AC delivers a flow rate of up to 2 L/min, allowing you to quickly drink directly from the SoftFlask™ or filter water into another container.

Ultralight – only 85 g

The complete system weighs just 85 g, making it an excellent choice when low pack weight and compact size are important. The flexible flask compresses as it empties and packs down small when not in use.

1.0L Hydrapak® SoftFlask™

The included 1.0L Hydrapak® SoftFlask™ is made from TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and is PVC and BPA free. Its Double-Layer construction is designed for demanding outdoor conditions.

A rugged handle makes the flask comfortable to carry and allows it to be easily hung from a backpack.

Easy-to-clean EZ-Clean Membrane™

The EZ-Clean Membrane™ is designed for simple field maintenance. Simply shake or swish the membrane in water to clean it – no backflushing or tools are required.

The EZ-Clean Membrane™ features a 42 mm thread.

Practical flip-cap and silicone mouthpiece

A sturdy flip-cap seals the filter securely, while the silicone mouthpiece can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement.
