Morakniv Bushcraft BlackBlade SRT (S) – survival knife with partially serrated blade

Morakniv Bushcraft BlackBlade SRT (S) is a robust and versatile survival and bushcraft knife developed for users who need both a conventional cutting edge and an efficient serrated section for cutting rope, cord and other fibrous materials.

The model stands out with its partially serrated edge, making it particularly useful for expeditions, camping, rope work and demanding outdoor situations. The strong 3.2 mm blade combined with stainless steel corrosion resistance makes the knife dependable in wet, cold and coastal environments.

12C27 stainless steel blade

The blade is made from Swedish 12C27 stainless steel supplied by Alleima. It measures 109 mm in length and 3.2 mm in thickness, with a nominal hardness of 56.5 HRC.

12C27 offers good corrosion resistance, durability and straightforward maintenance. This makes Bushcraft BlackBlade SRT (S) particularly suitable for damp environments, waterside use and situations where the additional maintenance required by carbon steel is less desirable.

Partially serrated edge

The blade features a partially serrated cutting edge. The serrated section is particularly effective for cutting ropes, cords and other fibrous materials, while the plain section preserves versatility for general cutting, carving and camp tasks.

This combination provides additional functionality for rescue, camping, marine and general outdoor applications.

Scandi grind and DLC coating

The blade features a Scandi grind, with Morakniv specifying a total grind angle of 26–28°. The black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating helps reduce reflections and provides additional corrosion protection.

The coating is particularly useful in coastal environments, mountains and damp forests where equipment is frequently exposed to moisture and changing conditions.

Ferro rod-compatible spine

The spine is ground for efficient use with a ferro rod. It can produce sparks even in cold and damp conditions, making it useful for fire starting during camping and survival activities.

Ergonomic TPE handle

The TPE rubber handle provides a secure non-slip grip even when wet or cold. A pronounced finger guard improves safety and gives better control during powerful cuts.

Polymer sheath

The knife comes with a durable polypropylene sheath featuring both a belt clip and belt loop for quick access and secure right-side carry.

Why and when should you choose Morakniv Bushcraft BlackBlade SRT (S)?

Choose this model when you need not only a strong bushcraft knife but also an efficient tool for cutting rope, cord and other fibrous materials. The partially serrated edge gives the SRT version a clear advantage in situations where a plain edge is less effective.

The 12C27 stainless steel also makes this model especially practical for wet environments, fishing, coastal use, camping and survival applications, since it requires less maintenance than carbon steel. If your priority is classic carving and woodwork and you do not need a serrated section, the standard Bushcraft BlackBlade may be the better choice.
