The Silva Ranger Global is a traditional base plate compass designed for hikers, mountaineers, backpackers and hunters who need a reliable navigation tool in different parts of the world. This model is built as a versatile compass for outdoor adventures across multiple magnetic zones.
The key feature of this compass is its global needle, which makes it usable in all magnetic zones worldwide. Many compasses are designed for only one zone, which can result in incorrect north indication when used elsewhere, but the Silva Ranger Global is made to work around the world.
The compass features a rubber grip for easier handling, a declination scale inside the capsule, a magnifying lens for precision map work and map measuring scales in mm, 1:25,000 and 1:50,000. The base plate is curved up at the back end for a better fit in the hand, and luminous markings enable navigation in low light and at night. It also includes a detachable safety-release lanyard and a robust construction made to withstand demanding conditions.
